Kelsey McFarland LCSW, LLC

utilizing evidence-based practices and modalities to establish and enhance adaptive mental health
About me
My name is Kelsey
She/Her/Hers
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience working with all ages in a variety of settings.
My primary focus is to help you achieve the goals you set, and help you align with and live by your values. My goal is to help individuals and families process barriers, understand and organize emotional chaos and develop communication, relational, and coping skills to live a functional, whole, and healthy life. I bring a warm and non-judgmental approach to counseling. I emphasize the importance of good communication, self-examination, and awareness. This allows for each individual to safely explore their inner world and gain insight into themselves and the world they are connecting with. I believe in the power of building relationships and cultivating a space of belonging. I believe each person already has in them the natural desire to grow, and that is what therapy with me is all about: personal growth.
I am a cisgendered, white, able-bodied person utilizing evidenced-based practices, providing trauma-informed and engaged care, striving to create a welcoming environment for clients.
I graduated from The University of Nebraska in Omaha, with my Master of Social Work degree from the Grace Abbott School of Social Work. I have worked with children and families since 2008 in a variety of settings including Missoula's Children's Museum and Families First. I have worked globally and nationally at schools, children's shelters, inpatient settings, and day rehab centers.
In my free time I find relaxation being in or around nature, reading, and spending time with my friends and family.

I mainly work with adolescents (12-18) as well as young adults with a variety of backgrounds and experiences to achieve self-compassion and personal growth. I have been trained in and I am working towards being certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (C-DBT). I utilize a variety of evidence-based practices on an individualized basis, depending on the client.
